Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable treatment designed to gradually improve skin quality, firmness and facial volume by encouraging your body’s own collagen production. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra works progressively, with results developing over the weeks and months following treatment.

Following the recommended aftercare is important to support an even result and minimise temporary swelling, tenderness and bruising:

Massage – the 5-5-5 Rule
After Sculptra treatment, we recommend following the 5-5-5 massage rule:
5 minutes of massage
5 times a day
For 5 days following treatment
Use clean hands with a moisturiser or gentle facial oil to reduce friction. Massage the treated areas firmly but comfortably using circular motions, making sure to cover all areas that were treated.

For the First 24–48 Hours
Avoid strenuous exercise for approximately 24 hours.
Avoid excessive heat, including saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers for approximately 48hours.
Avoid alcohol for around 24 hours where possible, particularly if you are prone to bruising.
Avoid unnecessary rubbing or pressure on the treated areas outside of your recommended massage.
Makeup and your normal skincare routine can generally be resumed once the injection sites have settled.

What to Expect After Sculptra
Mild swelling, tenderness, redness or bruising around the injection sites is common and usually settles within several days.
You may initially notice additional fullness immediately after treatment. This is largely due to mild swelling and the sterile water used to prepare Sculptra and will typically reduce over the following 2 days.
Sculptra results are gradual. As collagen production increases, improvements in skin quality, firmness and volume develop progressively over the following weeks and months.
