The Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Process

Is There Downtime?
Minimal downtime is typical. You may experience temporary redness or swelling. Aftercare is simple, usually involving avoiding pressure on the area and strenuous activity for a short time.

How Many Sessions and How Long Do Results Last?
Many patients see their desired results after one session, but additional treatments may be recommended. Results are visible immediately and typically last for 9 months to a year or longer.

What are the risks?
Noses are considered to be one of the riskier areas to inject because of its limited blood flow there is a higher risk of vascular occlusion particularly in someone who has already had a surgical rhinoplasty. It is also considered risky because of the connection of its blood supply to the ophthalmic artery, which supplies blood flow to the eye and can lead to blindness. This is an extremely rare occurrence and the chance of this happening is one in several million. These occurrences are more common in countries where injectors are not required to be qualified nurses and doctors; and where the cosmetic industry is less regulated. At Beauty By Doctor, Dr Phoebe Jones has undergone extensive training overseas and has participated in a number of hands on masterclasses in this area. Safe techniques including low velocity injecting, using cannulas where possible and always keeping the cannula/needle moving when not on perirosteum are some (but not all) strategies used to ensure the highest possible level of patient safety. At BBD we have protocols in place in the unlikely event a complication such as this would occur.
