Post Thread Lift
Aftercare

Following a thread lift procedure with Beauty by Doctor in Bondi Junction, proper aftercare is crucial to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal results. Follow this comprehensive guide to aid your recovery.
General Aftercare
Follow Doctor's Instructions: Dr Phoebe and her team will provide specific guidelines tailored to the type of threads used, their placement, and your unique needs. Take any medications as directed.
Cleanse Gently: Use lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser recommended by our team. Avoid harsh scrubbing or rubbing of the treated area. Pat it dry with a soft towel.
Limit Facial Movements: Minimise expressions such as wide smiles, yawns, or frowns for the first three weeks to avoid straining the threads.
Sleep Position: For the first week, sleep on your back to prevent pressure on the treated area, which could dislodge the threads.
Avoid Strenuous Activity: Refrain from activities that are high impact for three weeks post-treatment to let the threads settle. Gentle exercise and walking are encouraged.
Limit Makeup Use: Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours. After this period, apply it gently.
Manage Swelling: Mild swelling is common. Apply cold compresses wrapped in a clean cloth for 15-20 minutes at a time, especially during the first 24-48 hours.
Recovery Timeline
Days 1-3: Expect mild swelling, tenderness, and bruising in the treated area.
Weeks 1-2: These symptoms should gradually subside, though tightness or a sensation of threads under the skin may persist.
Week 3: Most discomfort resolves.
Weeks 4-8: The lifting effects become more noticeable as threads settle.
Months 3-12: Full results manifest as threads stimulate collagen production, enhancing lifting and tightening effects.
Additional Tips for Recovery
Hygiene: Showering is usually permitted after 24 hours, but avoid submerging the treated area for extended periods, especially in pools or hot tubs.
Pain Relief: Anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen can help with discomfort and reduce inflammation. Paracetamol can also work to reduce pain. Both can be used simultaneously in the first one to three days to manage pain.
Icepacks: This can help to alleviate swelling and pain in the first 24 hours.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water to help your body heal.
Follow-up Appointments: Schedule follow-up visits to monitor progress and address any concerns. Some patients may require a suture to be removed or have dressings required to be in place during the initial healing.
