    Post Volumising Fillers

    Aftercare

It is essential to follow a dedicated aftercare regimen after dermal filler treatments. This is to ensure a smooth recovery and the best possible results.

    General Aftercare Tips:

Follow Specific Instructions: Our expert team at Beauty By Doctor (BBD) will provide tailored aftercare instructions based on the specific fillers and your individual treatment plan. It is crucial to adhere to these guidelines and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

Gentle Cleansing: Clean the affected area with lukewarm water using a soft, gentle cleanser the day following your treatment. Avoid vigorous scrubbing to prevent irritation. Creams and makeup can be gently applied over the top.

Initially Minimise Touching or Massaging: Do not massage or apply pressure to the treated areas for at least 48 hours, as this could disrupt the fillers. The area will already be mildly swollen and tender, so excessive touching or massage will further aggravate this and is unnecessary. Good infection control is also important. Wash hands before touching the area. After a week, if the filler is a little bit lumpy, some gentle massage can be helpful to help the product to integrate into the surrounding tissues and give a smoother look.

Sleeping Position: If the treatment was given to your face, sleep on your back if possible, to avoid putting pressure on your face, particularly in the first few nights after the procedure.

    Recovery Timeline:

Initial 24 Hours: It's normal to experience some swelling, redness, or tenderness, which typically diminishes within one to three days.
First Week: Any bruising or swelling should gradually improve, though some firmness may be present.
Two to Four Weeks: You'll start to see the final results as the fillers settle and integrate with your facial tissue.
Three to Twelve Months: Enjoy the full benefits of your treatment, which can last from several months up to a year or more, depending on the type of filler used, your lifestyle choices and your individual metabolic rate.

    Additional Recovery Tips:

Cold Compresses: Applying a cool compress can help reduce swelling during the first 24 hours.
Bruise Treatment: Bruise creams such as Hirrudoid or Arnica can be helpful to minimise bruising. Laser bruise treatments are available at the clinic and are offered as a complimentary service following filler treatments at BBD. Minor bruising is common. For anything more significant or skin changes occurring beyond the treated area, please consult us.
Makeup: You can apply makeup shortly after the treatment, but do so gently to avoid pressing down on the treated areas. Make sure any makeup applicators are clean and sterile.
Pain Management: Over-the-counter pain relievers can be used to manage discomfort if required. If you experience anything more than mild pain or tenderness, then please contact the clinic.
Hydration: Drinking plenty of water helps enhance the healing process.
Follow-Up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to ensure your results progress as expected. If the filler needs an adjustment, we usually recommend waiting a full two weeks to allow for bruising and swelling to settle completely.

Important Reminder: If you encounter any signs of infection, or if you experience significant pain, bruising, or skin colour changes extending beyond the treated area, please contact Beauty By Doctor immediately. We are here to support you every step of the way to ensure a safe and satisfying outcome.
